Sleeklens Lightroom Presets and Brushes Review

I have recently been asked to test and write an honest review of the Sleeklens Lightroom Presets and their “Strike A Pose” portrait workflow for Lightroom.

Sleeklens.com offers photographers of various skill level a wide range of Lightroom presets and Photoshop actions to speed up editing and try different creative approaches to find their own style. The Strike a Pose workflow comes with 70 presets (that can be stacked on top of one another) and 63 retouch brushes (that can be used as brushes or graduated filters).

I played with the presets  for about a week, trying them on different photos and lighting situations. For most of the presets in the workflow, I had to tweak them a little here and there to achieve the desired look, but many are great as a one-click edit as well. What I think sets the Sleeklens presets apart is their brushes. Retouch skin brushes cover any possible detail on your subject’s face you may want to retouch. I am actually blown away by the power and precision of the skin brushes. I used brushes to retouch the first photo below, and you can see the dramatic difference and the flawless skin edit. I can see myself coming back to these brushes every time I edit client or personal work. In fact, now I will be able to save time by having skin retouched in Lightroom, without using photoshop to “polish” my final photos.

Here are some of the befores and afters while using the Sleeklens Strike a Pose Workflow.
